A couple of days ago I chatted online with a business friend that I know for a few years. We’re not close friends, but we talk shop every once in a while. He was just recently looking for a small cash advance loan online to cover a gap one of his contractors had caused, but not paying on time. So, he talked to the guy and the contractor gave a really strange reason why he was behind paying. They had just redesigned their website and also got a new logo. Well, they went ahead and got each employee a new set of business cards. They must have went totally over board, because they spent $2,200 on business and letterhead so that the new logo was “in production”. To make up for the large expense they simply decided not to pay their bills for the next 8 weeks.

I was stunned. What kind of business practice is that? You force other businesses to take out cash loans and do not consider the impact it has by not paying your bills. I told my friend that he should charge that contractor the cash loan fees he had inquired due to the contractor not paying he part.
